Not to spoil anything but the fact that they actually used Dr. M’s powers and intrinsic nature in such a way as to surprise the reader of a prequel is just…
I liked it a lot
I mean sure it felt a little fanfictiony but this whole project is fanfiction, might as well do something interesting with it
Also the art was really really gorgeous
Critique points: The clock and the blue guy, really? Not everything needs to have a deep-seated childhood meaning, BW writers. Callbacks are okay, but constant ones are not cute. Also I always thought Jon’s dad/parents were immigrants and Jon was born in America, so I was confused when it was like “Germany, my ninth birthday,” but I don’t think it ever actually said in the original so I’ll let it slide. I didn’t like that the issue was mostly just flashbacks that were covered in the original. Also, that’s not how Jon remembered that he forgot his coat! He was like down the hall, not at the bar. However, something somehow clicked in my lizard brain while I was reading and I finally understand what an intrinsic field is! I am dumb and never really got it in the original.
So yeah I thought it was p good
Ugh the art for Ozymandias is so gorgeous but the writing is so freaking awful

The only one of these Before Watchmen series I was looking forward to was Adrian’s and it just sucks
I don’t mind being the smartest man in the world, I just wish it wasn’t this one.
